Kiddie Botox. Is This Real?

Is this real? Wait, wait, wait….

An eight-year-old. Getting Botox injections. From her mother.

Why? So that she can become a “superstar.”

This video says so much about the true extent of body image and self esteem issues, as well as the twisted standards of beauty, in the U.S. and throughout the world.

First of all, this mother should be locked up for administering Botox to a child. That sounds like abuse to me…Mommie Dearest anyone? Furthermore, what message is she sending to her little girl? Instead of instilling the values of hard work and dedication in her daughter, this mother is saying that with the right look, some fake boobs and teeth – this little girl can achieve success.

This story is so so so sad. I cannot imagine the issues this girl will be dealing with as she grows up.

What are your thoughts?

Where do you think this obsession with cosmetic surgery and celebrity comes from? What can be done to stop it, if anything?

I am outraged. I am 45 and just had my first botox last October and was not really thrilled with the price. The results were great for several months relaxing my frowning and causing my forehead to get more wrinkled. Did not hurt but I could not raise my eyebrows. Kind of odd feeling. Overtime relaxing the muscle will end up smoothing the skin but I am not sure I will do it again. Want something more permanent like maybe laser resurfacing. But an 8yr old surely does not need botox. Where is the mother able to get her hands on this product because there is no doctor that would inject an 8yr old with this. So whomever is supplying her with it should be punished as well. I thought a medical license was required to obtain this type of product and administer it. This mother needs to stop. Now.

I completely agree with you, Tina. I actually saw on Twitter that the mother is getting investigated for this. It’s sad to say, but I think that this mother is doing way more harm than good to this child’s emotional/physical well-being.
