How To Get Smooth Skin Now!

The quest for pristine, baby’s-butt-smooth skin has always been a bit elusive for me. I’ve tried countless products! My bathroom cabinet is overflowing with serums, scrubs and masks, and out of all of those only a few have passed the test. Over the past month, my face has become noticeably smoother thanks to consistent use of these 5 products that will get you smooth skin now!

1. Clarins Gentle Brightening Exfoliator, $30 for 1.7 oz

I first tried this product when I was at a Clarins event in Miami. I tested it on my hand and all I could say was “whoa!” I was so happy when they gave me a full size tester to try on my face at home. I’ve been using it for about a month (they say that it takes 28 days to judge the effectiveness of skincare products) and I am beyond happy with the results. Raspberry, strawberry, grapefruit and other plant-based extracts work to banish dark spots like acne scars. Microbeads will slough off dead skin.

2. Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser, $15 for 6 oz

This cleanser works. I have been using it consistently for several months now and I’ve seen such a huge difference in the number of breakouts I experience. Normally, acne cleansers can dry out your skin, but this one left my skin soft without any peeling.

3. DDF Sulfur Therapeutic Mask, $38 for 4 oz (cheaper if you find it at T.J. Maxx like I did!)

This mask is another product that is more than welcome in my arsenal of skincare products.  I used this maybe 2 times a month, but you can tell that it really cleans your pores from the inside out. Although it might be stinky, the sulfur helps to reduce the oiliness of your skin and prevents blockages.

4. Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System, $149

This is definitely the single most expensive beauty purchase I’ve ever made, but it is truly one that I do not regret. According to the product’s Web site:

“The Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth skin. In just 60 seconds, the micro-massage action removes 6X more makeup and 2X more dirt and oil than cleansing with your hands alone.”

After reading this, I just had to buy one. It really does give your face the best deep-cleaning you can get next to being in your esthetician’s chair. After using this, I notice that my skin stays clearer longer.

5. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, $17 for 1 oz

This product is what they call a cult classic. It is the product that put Mario Badescu’s skin care products on the map. Why? Because it works. All you need is a dab of this pink stuff on your blemish and the next day, it will be dried up and ready to be scrubbed off. Magic!
