The Forge Restaurant | Winebar in Miami Beach

In one of my idle moments last week, I randomly came across the list of restaurants participating in this year’s Miami Spice. In case you’re not from around the ’305′, Miami Spice is a two-month-long restaurant promotion, in which you pay $35 for a three-course dinner at your choice of South Florida’s finest restaurants. As mouthwatering as this sounds, in all of my 24 years as a Miami resident, I had never taken advantage of this chance to sample high-end cuisine for the low!

After a good hour of perusing all of the menus, I decided that the offering at The Forge Restaurant | Winebar was, by far, the most delectable.

Fast forward a week and there I was, sauntering into the newly-renovated restaurant with the renowned wine selection and storied past.

We had reservations, so we were seated immediately in the large dining room (our table was the one in the bottom right corner of the dining room photo above). I was impressed with the ridiculously high ceilings, giant chairs and overall elegance. However, despite the grand ambiance of The Forge, I was happy to see a mix of both families and socialites out on a Friday night. Everyone was having a wonderful time (including myself) and jamming to everything from Lil’ Wayne to 80′s rock.

Now, on the the important part – the food! Miami Spice offered a prix-fixe menu, so we had limited selection. For my appetizer, I went with the smoked salmon croquettes, served with a spicy guava sauce. Loved them! For my entree, I chose the grilled salmon, which was also delish. Dessert was a perfectly portioned, melt-in-your-mouth mini cheesecake.

All in all, I had a wonderful time. I truly enjoyed the impeccable service and dined on sumptuous cuisine.

I suggest The Forge Restaurant | Winebar if you’re looking for an upscale dinner spot on Miami Beach away from the rowdy crowds and celeb chasers. Beautiful design. Amazing food. A killer wine selection.
